There is a turning point for every footballer who fails at a big club. It won't be the first or only time it happens, but there are ways in which you can express yourself for or against your former club. Such is the case with Eden Hazard, who has formally left Real Madrid after three long years.
The Belgian, who was one of the best players in the world while playing for Chelsea, decided to join Real Madrid in 2020. He spent more than 80 million euros and was expected to be Cristiano Ronaldo's full replacement after leaving for Serie A side Juventus.
But injuries, lack of work and constant fights with Carlo Ancelotti made the fans forget that he was still with the Merengues. So much so that he was no longer even called up to the bench for friendlies or youth games, so his departure was imminent when his contract expired.
In fact, his case was very similar to that of Gareth Bale. The Welshman had glorious moments in the UEFA Champions League, but his actual time in La Liga was poor. So much so that he was just waiting for his contract to end and was basking on the golf courses, the second sport he played.
In his announcement of his retirement from the Belgium national team, Eden Hazard says that he still feels very much looking forward to remain a professional player. He even confessed 'I'm still capable, I have rested for three years', which has caused the Madrid board led by Florentino Perez to explode in anger at this terrible mockery.
