One of the things that stands out about the Premier League is that it is a well-known league around the world. Without a doubt, the advent of modern football and marketing has benefited English football in an impressive way. Teams steeped in history and with a fan base that stands out above the rest, it is well known that the UK is simply the birthplace of football.
Today, there is competition with other leagues around the world but it seems that the hegemony of football is maintained in England, at least at the level of local competitions. While elsewhere it is not common to see teams from the 1st division play against teams from the 4th division, here in England it is possible. It should be noted that in leagues like the MLS where Messi plays, there is not even promotion and relegation
This means that in the leagues there is not so much internal competition and everything is limited to playing with the same teams, until the creation of a new team arrives. On the other hand, the Premier League's big business is undoubtedly its broadcasting rights. In fact, it is easier for many foreigners to watch the league in their countries than for a person from the United Kingdom.
Telecommunications standards and broadcasting rights certainly have a direct impact. Furthermore, the Premier League for many is the best league in the world, while for others this seems not to be the case. Recently, a new IFFHS ranking of the best leagues in the world came out and the Premier League does not occupy the first place
According to the IFFHS, the first place is the Brazilian League, finally in second place is the Premier League. This, for many, is a subjective decision. As per fans on social media, the ranking doesn't represent much objectivity.
