The retired defender, who played for Manchester United from 2002 to 2014, revealed that three players could be ruining their careers at the club unless the manager doesn’t take concrete measures to avoid it in the second part of the season, given that they would be playing too much under the Dutchman.

In this sense, Ferdinand said to be a great admirer of Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund, but left clear that they would be playing too many minutes at their early age as it could be a real problem for the players, who could go exhausted during the season and they could even face serious injuries due to an excess of minutes of play.

Ferdinand believes that other main players should step up

“Young players at their age need to be dipped in and dipped out. These boys are being asked to hold the fort and hold the torch”, explained Ferdinand, who considers that the young players at United shouldn’t lead the team as they are forced to do, leaving clear that older players such as Eriksen, Rashford or Martial should step up in the squad.
