Liverpool’s striker Darwin Nunez lived a horrible action on the pitch in the game where the Reds got a 5-1 win against Toulouse on the third day of the 2023/2024 UEFA Europa League’s group stage, as he failed to score at empty goal after completing an incredible play, that he did not know how to seal with a beautiful net.

The Uruguayan 24-year-old striker, who had already scored at the 34th minute of the game with a strong right footed shot inside the box, had the possibility of completing a double with the Reds in a great night for the Anfield team, who imposed their quality on the pitch and their dominance against their rival with quick counter attacks during the whole game.

However, Darwin was not able to score his second goal due to a horrible finish. The action happened at the 65th minute of their game against the French team, when Darwin himself led a counter attack for the Reds, receiving the ball and completing a great run toward the rival box. In the way, he was able to dribble brilliantly past the last defender, and he dribbled past the rival goalkeeper too, but he was not able to score with the goal totally.

The player’s mistake went viral on social media

The Uruguayan striker hit the post and fortunately his teammate Ryan Gravenberch could pick the rebound and score the goal for Liverpool. For some minutes, Nunez could be seen on the grass regretting his mistake with the hands on his head, an image that very quickly went viral among the fans on the social media, while in the stadium, Liverpool fans chanted the player’s name to encourage him and cheer him up.
