Liverpool’s coach Jürgen Klopp keeps on designing the squad to be developed during the next few years and in the last hours the club announced a key decision on one of the best prospects in Liverpool’s academy, who could be crucial in the next few years as a potential successor for Mohamed Salah’s leadership in the team’s attack.

The player in question would be the Irish 17-year-old winger Trent Kone-Doherty, an exciting young player who in the last few hours signed his first professional contract with Liverpool, ready to make a huge impact on Liverpool’s senior team in the next few years once he already was training with the squad ahead of the games against Newcastle, Everton, and Toulouse in this season.

In this sense, after turning 17 at the end of June, Kone-Doherty was then eligible to turn his scholarship into a professional contract and the club confirmed the deal on Tuesday. In this respect, it would be worth remembering that the 17-year-old has started the new season brightly with six goals, he has scored on his U21s debut and has also notched a hat-trick for the U18s.

The player’s footballistic growth keeps ongoing meteorically

Kone-Doherty has become one of the attractions in Liverpool's academy. The young Irish player is fearless on the ball and is eager to take on the opposition at every opportunity, a quality that could help Liverpool to develop a top class striker in the next few years adding minutes of play for a player whose growth keeps on going meteorically.
