Manchester United want to build a strong squad for the upcoming European and Premier League season. Third place in the league has made them recognise that their squad is a bit short and they need big stars in order to be respected and to try to win in all competitions they participate in.

Erik ten Hag's wish is to continue to implement his system of play. And with people like Marcel Sabitzer or Antony it has worked well for him. But he understands that he must have young players who can have a promising future for the next seasons, if they want to make a hegemony.

One such player is Mason Mount. The Chelsea youth player is one of those that the Dutch coach likes the most and who can fit in with his method of play. In addition to being quick and skilful, but above all he can help with his departure to alleviate the financial burden the Blues have for next season.

However, one important figure in the story was not convinced about this departure. Mauricio Pochettino wanted to better evaluate his players and could see in Mount a star who can now go to a direct rival to win the English League next season, so he does not want to give more weapons to his enemies.

What happens between Mount and United?

According to different reports in England, the deal between Chelsea and Manchester United for Mason Mount is closed. It could be as high as 70 million pounds, which would mean more money for the Londoners, who need to put together a good team to be able to return to European competitions.
