Arsenal got a 3-1 defeat in West London against West Ham in the Carabao Cup Round of 16 and lost their first title of the season with a poor performance in a game where the Gunners were dominated by the Hammers. Arsenal’s squad rotations set by Mikel Arteta did not work as well as expected by the Spanish manager and they ran out of time to comeback in a game where they were always led by their rival.

The locals opened the scoring at the 16th minute through an own goal by Ben White, which boosted the confidence of the locals, who played with their best lineup against the Gunners. David Moyes’ team went to halftime leading the game, which was not different in the second half, where they would extend their advantage against the Gunners.

The Ghanaian striker Mohamed Kudus, who was linked with the North London team in the summer, made the second goal for the Hammers at the 50th, and everything went astray for the Gunners, with Arteta trying to react giving entry to Rice and Zinchenko coming off the bench.

The Gunners reacted too late to comeback in the game

However, the English international striker Jarrod Bowen scored the third goal for the local at the 60th minute of the game, and the late Arsenal’s reaction only could reduce some distance in the result with a goal scored by Odegaard at the 96th, too late to start a comeback that never happened for the Gunners, who lost their first trophy of the season.
