When a jewel in football starts to be born in an important way, all the teams start to play dirty to take him. PSG did it with Kylian Mbappé, who snatched him away from many teams on the continent and is now the object of desire for football's nouveau riche with their big budgets.
This Belgian player has only recently started to emerge. He has power and pace, as well as spectacular attacking intelligence, so he is projected as a player who will soon take the place of Eden Hazard, who has just left Real Madrid as a flop.
Domenico Tedesco is already scouting him for the next Euro 2024, as the squad needs to be revamped as soon as possible. He knows that the generation of Romelu Lukaku, Kevin de Bruyne and Hazard himself will be on their way out soon, and he wants to make his own mark and not a copy of Roberto Martinez.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea want him. Mikel Arteta intends to armour himself in case Granit Xhaka is sold in the summer transfer window. While Mauricio Pochettino is trying to repair the disaster that was last season, and needs a midfielder who can link up better with Enzo Fernandez.
Reporter Fabrizio Romano reports that Romeo Lavia is on Arsenal's radar for next season and they have already taken the first steps to start negotiations. Chelsea are also interested in the Belgian and there would be a third Premier League side involved such as Manchester United to enter the race to sign him, but there is nothing concrete so far.
