It was a nightmare end to Arsenal's Premier League season. Despite their final efforts to lift the title, the Manchester City steamroller was surprising and they could not do much to fight for the lead they held by several points. Today, Josep Guardiola's players are looking forward to the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan.

Mikel Arteta was recognised as one of the best managers in England, but it was clear that he does not have the necessary players on the bench to reverse the negative results of the last few games, so he is already looking for a new solution to accompany his attackers and be more effective next season, which will undoubtedly be tougher now that they have a ticket to Europe's top tournament.

The Gunners' strikers should not be criticised too much, as they did everything they could to become champions. But neither should we forget that they failed at the crucial moment and the fans have reproached their lack of play, despite the fact that many of them already have experience in big clubs, as is the case of Gabriel Jesus, who had no place in the brand new champions and had to look for a new destination in London.

But not everything was easy for Jesus, who was on the bench in several games and never fully convinced Arteta. So the forward rotation could come from the Netherlands. A new striker who could become one of the top scorers in the coming months will put on the red and white shirt and they see him with a future very similar to the one Thierry Henry had in his time.

The new Dutch Thierry Henry?

It seems that PSV Eindhoven striker Xavi Simons is set to join Arsenal. With 22 goals and 12 assists in the Eredivisie, he is the new object of desire of all the big teams in Europe. FC Barcelona have reportedly made contact with the striker, but Arsenal want him to arrive as soon as possible to convince him that Mikel Arteta's project suits him better and that he could shine better in the Premier League.
