The Argentine coach was forced to sent the player off in the game against Everton

Chelsea’s coach Mauricio Pochettino was slammed again by the injuries in the squad, as the Argentine manager was forced to make a change during the game facing the Blues against Everton in Goodison Park on the sixteenth day of the 20203/2024 Premier League season due to the injury suffered by one of his defenders.

The player in question was the captain of the Blues, Reece James, who would face a new injury regarding his gestures on the pitch in the game against the Toffees, which mean that the English international could be again on the sidelines, completing a horrible streak of injuries during the last few months.

James, who has only made eight appearances for the Blues this season, has been on the sidelines for at least two months in the campaign, having lost nine games with the team managed by Mauricio Pochettino, who this time had to replace the English defender at the 27th minute of the away game against Everton.

Pochettino returned to the three-man defensive line

In this sense, the Argentine manager replaced the English international with the entry of Levi Colwill, changing his four-man defensive line by a three-man one, a system which hasn’t given good results for Chelsea this season, as the Blues have gotten their best level in the campaign with four defenders in their team.
