Manchester United surprisingly gave up on the signing of the Spanish left back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in the last few hours, surprising the football fans after it seemed clear that he could be the man to replace the absence of Luke Shaw in the team, since the Spanish player was going to join the team in a one-year loan transfer for a low price for the Red Devils.

However, the Mancunian institution would have finally not signed the player according to the Spanish journal Marca, and they would be trying to make the right choice by finding a new alternative that could fit financially and sportingly in the club’s needs.

Following the Marca sources, the negotiations for Marc Cucurella would have then finished after an initial loan €4 million offer from Manchester United would have been rejected by Chelsea, who would have requested €5 million plus add-ons for the Spanish left back.

Manchester United would return to the race to sign Sergio Reguilon

In consequence, as reported the Spanish journal, Manchester United would be now looking for alternatives to replace Luke Shaw during this season, and they would be considering to return to the race to sign Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham, apparently the player with the cheapest asking price, who would presented the only difficulty of the salary coverage by Manchester United, that would be being discussed with Tottenham in the next few hours to seal the potential arrival of the player.
