Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag was under the spotlight in the last few hours to respond to a concrete question about the playing’s style of the Red Devils during this season, as the team was indirectly accused of not giving their best effort on the pitch by their own fans with a banner saying “play like you meant it” at Craven Cottage during their clash against Fulham.
In this sense, Erik Ten Hag was asked about this banner and the Dutchman reacted to the fan’s exigences with a clear message to his squad, which would have surprised the media and the fans during the club’s press conference ahead of their next game against Copenhagen in the Champions League.
In this respect, the Dutchman agreed that everything could always be improved, and gave the reason to the fans for claiming for the standards Manchester United should show in every game during the season. "The players made their efforts but there can always be more. The fans expect the highest standards and we have these high expectations. And when you're not playing well, you still have to win", he explained.
Meanwhile, the team keeps on getting ready for the game in Denmark against Copenhagen in the Parken Stadium for the fourth day of the 2023/2024 Champions League group stage, which the Red Devils need to win to have options to qualify for the next phase of the competition.
