Manchester United's 2-1 defeat in the FA Cup was hard and they have not won a single title this football year. Erik ten Hag's career with the Red Devils has gone from strength to strength, but these hard knocks have been devastating for the fans who have been left wanting to taste a major trophy.

That is why the Red Devils are preparing for their foray into the next UEFA Champions League, including trying to sign world-class players who can carry the weight of the young talent on the bench today.

Some of them, such as Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri, are waiting to show what they can do and be seen by the European giants. As well as wanting to forge a new history for United, who have fallen behind their English League rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

This season's Premier League sensation was Erling Haaland. The Norwegian swept the league with his goalscoring championship and his hat-trick or even pokers form throughout the year. But what few people know is that he could have joined Manchester United for very little money.

Why didn't Haaland come to United?

According to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, former United player and manager, he had already seen the so-called 'Android' at RB Salzburg and could have signed with the Devils for the minimal amount of 4.5 million euros. But the Manchester board saw him without a promising future and passed up the opportunity. Now they are paying the consequences by being an enemy and celebrating in his face the trophies he is winning with his neighbours.
