Manchester United academy is full of wonderkids with potential enough to be legends at the club, but very few of them finally are able to achieve that goal. In this sense, we have been able to see many cases of this, with players who seemed to be destined to lead the club and they ended up going down in their careers in an unexpected way.

One of the last players in the academy called to make history at the club, has already surprised everyone this season. After having gotten the Manchester United number 11 shirt as a proof to the trust put on him by players and managers, he experienced an unexpected personal situation which make him to be out of the squad and didn’t help the player when he was in the best moment of his career.

We talk about Mason Greenwood,  who recently was added to the Manchester United squad four months after charges of attempted rape and assault were dropped against him. The charges against him were dropped in February of this year, but he is still the subject of an internal “process” being conducted by United. Despite all the possible trouble found on him, Erik Ten Hag counts on the player, who could be close to joining another club on an external loan to allow him retake his career out of the Mancunian spotlight.

Manchester United will give the player another chance

Mason Greenwood, who is still under contract with Manchester United until 2025, is open to give him a chance after Ten Hag confirmed he would like to count on the player in case he can return to his best level. That condition would have driven the club to look for an external loan, with Atalanta interested in the player and close to completing his arrival to the Italian league in the next few hours.
