Erik Ten Hag’s pre-season has started with many players willing to convince the coach to get an opportunity in the team next season. During the last friendly game played against Leeds in Oslo, the Dutchman could see how some of the best prospects in the United’s academy are stepping up to earn their place in the squad showing an enormous potential.
It was the case of Amad Diallo, who had the time to show his dribbling skills during the 45 minutes he was on the pitch, where he was able to set a pass accuracy of 88% and give a key pass for the United final victory, which could drive the Ivorian player to still have opportunities to be in the Ten Hag’s squad.
However, some young players in the team could not be that lucky and they could be forced to exit from the club on a loan transfer to get more experience. That could be the case of the Uruguayan striker Facundo Pellistri, who has been reported to be very appreciated by Ten Hag but could end being betrayed by the coach. Pellistri played some important minutes last season but according to the British media, Ten Hag wouldn’t count on him for this season and the club would be looking for possible destinations to send him on a loan transfer.
In this sense, Pellistri could be very disappointed with this decision, as he has been reported to be working out very heavily during his period of vacation in South America, with the expectation of being part of the squad this year, which finally could not happen, having appeared Betis or Twente as potential destinations to follow his career.
