Jürgen Klopp reacted to Liverpool’s win against West Ham and praised Joel Matip

Liverpool’s coach Jürgen Klopp surprised in the club’s press conference after their win against West Ham in Anfield Road on the sixth day of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, where the German manager made several changes in the lineup that worked out perfectly and allowed the Reds to keep on winning to remain in the race to conquer the league title.

In this sense, Klopp placed Joe Gomez and Joel Matip in the defense to replace Trent Alexander Arnold and Ibou Konate respectively, as the German manager would want to keep them away from the field for some time to get them well recovered for the next few weeks, where difficult Premier League games will arrive for the Reds, such as the ones against Tottenham or Brighton.

In this respect, despite Joel Matip having previously been highly criticized by the fans and the media even during the club’s preseason, the German player completed a great game against West Ham, being one of the key players in Liverpool’s victory, as he completely blocked the Hammers’ striker Mijail Antonio.
