Jürgen Klopp has in mind to rejuvenate his team and rebuild the squad during this summer transfer window. A proof of that is the confirmed Fabinho’s departure and the possible exit of Henderson, while men like Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner or Bobby Firmino already left the club after their contracts expired.
In this sense, the German coach has been trying to sign key players in specific areas in the team, where new men will be placed to develop a new project which allows Liverpool to go back to its glory days, with Alexis Mccallister and Dominik Szobozslai as first signings, but with the goal of completing several transfers to improve the level of the team.
One of those transfers could arrive to play at the defense, a line that Klopp wants to improve with quality and versatility, as the German coach knows Trent Alexander Arnold could change his position to play in the midfield, as the English player has already shown with the English national team. In this sense, according to the German press, Liverpool could have started talks with Bayern Munchen to sign the right back Benjamin Pavard.
Pavard responds to the versatile profile Klopp wants for Liverpool. The player won the World Cup with France in 2018, and has played both as a right back and as a central defender, which really convinces Klopp to pursue his signing. However, Liverpool could not be alone in the race for the player, as Manchester City could be also interested. Pep Guardiola really likes the player and Liverpool will surely face a big competition for the player.
