Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag would be planning to sign a second goalkeeper in the next few hours, since he would be planning on selling Dean Henderson and buy another player to perform as a backup for the main option Andre Onana in the team during the 2023/2024 Premier League season.

In this sense, according to the English journal Daily Mail, Manchester United would have asked about Benfica’s goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos, a 29-year-old German-born Greek international with more than 200 appearances for the Portuguese giant since he joined the club in 2018 from Panathinaikos.

Following these sources, Manchester United could be ready to make a move for the player once the Red Devils would be in talks with Crystal Palace to sell Dean Henderson in the last few days before speeding up the negotiations with Benfica for the signing of Odysseas, who played 34 games last season with Benfica and won the Portuguese League title.

Erik Ten Hag would be willing to find a replacement for Andre Onana

After selling Nathan Bishop to Sunderland and Matej Kovar to Bayer Leverkusen and with the potential arrival of Odysseas, Erik Ten Hag would finally count on the top replacement he would be looking for Andre Onana, who was in the Manchester United’s lineup in the team’s last two games against Wolverhampton and Tottenham, against whom Radek Vitek was on the bench since Tom Heaton and Dean Henderson were absent due to injury.
