Manchester United is willing to complete an elite squad for his coach Erik Ten Hag, who has requested the club at least to sign some key players in specific roles and try to add some squad depth in the following transfer market weeks. In this sense, Manchester United has already completed the arrival of Mason Mount for the midfield, and is close to announce Andre Onana as a goalkeeper.
After these two arrivals, Ten Hag would try to sign a big striker, while he wouldn’t try to improve the team’s defense until a potential sale of Harry Maguire could be sealed. In that sense, Ten Hag would have identified the Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta as a top target to lead the Manchester United forward line.
Given that interest, Manchester United recently started talks for the player with Atalanta, and Hojlund has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils, where he is determined to play next season. However, Manchester United still has to negotiate with Atalanta to agree a transfer fee, and the Red Devils have been reported to go wild for the player in the last few hours.
In this sense, the Mancunian institution has been reported to be willing to offer a fixed base of €53-55 million plus bonuses for Hojlund, after having seen an initial €35 million offer rejected. Meanwhile, Atalanta would be expecting €60-70 million for the player, so the next few hours could be crucial for United to agree a potential deal for Hojlund.
