Manchester United are keen to sign at least one high-profile midfielder as Erik Ten Hag looks to increase his options of being champions and improve his team performance though the signing of elite players for next season in all competitions, after having finished third in the Premier League and having got back to the Champions League during this campaign.
According to recent reports in the Manchester Evening, Chelsea's high demands in the valuation of the Mount’s transfer fee, as their unwillingness to concede on those demands, have left Manchester United feeling 'unhappy' with their rivals as the Mason Mount situation is at the moment unclear with the former Chelsea player getting more and more unpopular among the Chelsea fans.
Following the sources by the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man Utd £55m last bid remains valid as the institution and its coach Ten Hag have decided not to overpay the player, who is interested in leaving Chelsea. Manchester United expects Mount to express his strong desire to join their team and would have decided they won’t make any unrealistic bid.
The Manchester United difficulties to make any kind of progress in moving the 24-year-old player to Old Trafford will likely result in them looking for alternative targets. A shortlist of four midfielders is believed to exist, but Mount remains Ten Hag's first overall choice, being the ball now in the court of Chelsea and Mason Mount if any of them want to get this transfer done.
