Chelsea’s fullback Marc Cucurella surprised the media and the fans in the last few hours by making a shocking revelation that would have enraged the Brighton fans, as the player praised his current team snubbing in some way the current ambitions of the Seagulls, one of the most attractive teams in the 2023/2024 Premier League season.

The Catalan player, who was interviewed by Chelsea TV, wanted to highlight the qualities of the Blues, where he arrived last season for €65 million from Brighton, his first Premier League team after having succeeded in Getafe, where he played 86 games having given eight assists.

In his interview, Cucurella revealed the pressure experienced at Chelsea, and snubbed Brighton when he labeled the Seagulls as a normal club, praising the Blues as a big club in his career. "When you come to a big club, the pressure is there. When you go to a normal club, there is not this pressure. It’s different. You need to win but the objectives are different”, he explained.

He believes Chelsea can do good things this season

In this sense, Cucurella, who has struggled to be part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans in this season, revealed that at Chelsea “every week, every game, you have to win", and confirmed to be really focused on the season with the Blues, confirming that after their great performances against Tottenham and Manchester City, they have confidence to make a great impact on the league this season. "We are in a good way and need to continue, we can do good things this season...", explained the Catalan defender.
