Manchester City’s coach Pep Guardiola would be determined to improve the team’s defense as one of his main goals for the next few months, as he would want to shield the team with a solid back with the necessary squad depth to keep on competing for all the titles during the next few years.

For this reason, the Catalan coach would have put his eyes on the defense of the Italian side Inter Milan, where the versatile right back Federico Dimarco has recently been one of the main appointed players by Pep Guardiola according to the Italian media. However, the Catalan coach would be also interested in another player to sign alongside Dimarco according to the latest information appearing in the British press.

According to the English journal The Sun, Pep Guardiola would be considering the signing of the Italian 24-year-old center back Alessandro Bastoni, precisely teammate of Dimarco, who could see how he finally plays for Manchester City alongside one of his best friends at Inter.

Manchester City wouldn’t be alone in the race for the player

Following these sources, Inter would be forced to sell some players due to financial problems in the institution and the Italian side would be asking for €70 million to let the player go. However, Manchester City could not be alone in the race for the player, as the information from The Sun also reports Chelsea’s interest for the player, which would force the Citizen to make a quick move in the next few months to secure the player’s arrival to the Etihad Stadium.
