Mohamed Salah doesn’t stop surprising the Liverpool fans during this summer. The Egyptian player has already become a Liverpool legend in his career with the Reds’ and he is currently placed third on the Top Liverpool Scorers in history with 186 goals, having equalized Steven Gerrard and being ahead of great players like Fowler, Dalglish or Keegan and being only behind Hunt and Rush, the top Liverpool scorer in all time.
Given his huge contribution to Liverpool history, Salah is also expected to become a leader inside the dressing room and step up next season once on replacing James Milner as his leading role in the squad. In this sense, Salah is already working on it, having conquered a James Milner record in the last few hours, getting the fans excited again with a new achievement in his Liverpool’s career.
During the first day of pre-season, Salah surprised everybody at the Liverpool’s universe at the club’s annual pre-season lactate test, called by Jürgen Klopp the “James Milner award”, as the great Liverpool captain had won the fitness test in each of his eight seasons at the club. Given the absence of Milner this year, Salah stepped up to fill the place of his ex teammate, who left Liverpool for Brighton at the end of the last season.
This last Salah’s achievement is only another proof of Salah's great physical shape. The Egyptian player’s dedication to fitness has been in the spotlight all this summer, thrilling and impressing the football fans in every physical fact it is known about him, showing Salah could be the man to lead Liverpool to the glory days again.
