Manchester City would be working on its transfer market to improve the Pep Guardiola’s team in the next few weeks, once the Citizen have lost Ilkay Gundogan and have several big players courted by European teams and Saudi football, which could bring some absences to the current squad, with big names close to leave the club soon.
In this sense, Pep Guardiola has already identified several positions to invest on, such as the defense or the midfield, where Manchester City needs to clarify as soon as possible the delicate situation of Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez, footballers who could leave the club in the coming weeks.
At the defense, Manchester City has been reported by the British media to be keen on the incorporation of a new central defender, with the Croatian Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig identified as the top target, but given his high cost, the club has begun to assess the possibility of casting their nets on another more affordable defender, the Senegalese Abdoulaye Ndiaye from Olympique de Lyon.
However, the situation that really worries Guardiola is the possible Kyle Walker’s departure, as Bayern Munchen could be interested in the player and would have already sent the player an interesting proposal according to the German press, which could lead the Manchester City owners to propose a swap deal for Benjamin Pavard, who has been already considered by Guardiola as an excellent option to replace the potential Walker absence in the squad.
