The Argentine player was one of the best players on the pitch against West Ham.

The Argentine striker Julian Alvarez was one of the best players on the pitch for Manchester City in their victory 1-3 against West Ham in the London stadium, where the Pep Guardiola’s team achieved to impose their quality and ball control to the constant attempts of the rival, and Julian had an important role to develop the offensive transitions that led the team to the victory.

In this sense, Manchester City’s coach Pep Guardiola did not have any doubt on praising the player at the end of the game for his performance on the pitch, which he would have consider one of the keys of the final win for the Citizen, who achieved their fifth victory in five games, remaining perfect in this 2023/2024 Premier League season.

In the after game press conference, Pep Guardiola confessed to have had some doubts about allowing Julian to be in the initial lineup since the Argentine striker had had a long travel from Bolivia, which would have caused him jet lag and tiredness few hours before the game against West Ham but Julian himself would have asked his coach to play.

Guardiola confessed that Julian is undroppable from his lineup

Guardiola finally decided to trust on the player to start the game, and in the after game conference, the Catalan coach confessed the importance of the Argentine striker in Manchester City’s system. “Julian is undroppable. Gündoğan left and with Kevin's injury he has his chance and he is taking advantage of it. He is learning a lot to move in the gaps, he is a threat with goals and assists. We are delighted that the club brought him in last year”, explained Guardiola.
