Manchester City’s coach Pep Guardiola surprised the media and the fans in the last few hours, when he spoke in the press conference of his club after their 1-1 draw against Liverpool in the Etihad Stadium on the thirteenth day of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, when he was asked about the polemic confrontation he had with Darwin Nunez when the game ended.
In this sense, it would be worth remembering that the Liverpool’s number nine entered into the pitch when Pep Guardiola was greeting Jürgen Klopp at the end of the game, and the Uruguayan striker shout something to the Catalan coach, who turned and confronted the Liverpool player, being hold by the Manchester City’s coaching staff.
For this reason, in the after game press conference, the question was mandatory for the media, who asked Pep Guardiola about the incident suffered between Darwin Nunez and him, and the Manchester City manager surprised everyone with his answer to the journalists in the Citizen’s media stand.
The Catalan coach didn’t want to give any concrete detail about the incident with the Uruguayan striker, and answer the questions with a strong and clear message, stating that “nothing happened” between Darwin Nunez and him, while Jürgen Klopp analyzed the incident not giving too much importance to what happened. "I'm not the one to explain because I wasn't involved, surprisingly! And I didn't understand a word…”, joked the German coach.
