There is unrest among Chelsea players. The team now coached by Mauricio Pochettino is not going to renew several players and many teams in Europe are already looking to sign them for next season. Some of them have already won the UEFA Champions League and are considered world-class stars.
That is why Mateu Alemany, FC Barcelona's director of football, is already setting his sights on several players who will leave on Pochettino's orders. And he understands that they could arrive totally free and without any problems of having to spend money for them.
And this could suit the Spanish team for next season, as their participation in European competitions is now hanging by a thread because of a refereeing allegation a few years ago and UEFA could sanction them with not being able to compete with the best on the continent.
Even so, Barcelona want to build a powerfulteam, as they would also be looking for Lionel Messi to join their ranks now that he is no longer at PSG. So they would have a new version of "The Last Dance" with the Argentine and a handful of new stars on the footballing horizon.
Both Cesar Azpilicueta and N'Golo Kante are being closely monitored by FC Barcelona. The former could have arrived this season but was rejected by Chelsea and the latter would not be renewed, so he would listen to offers and the 'cules' would be the first to make contact with the Frenchman.
