Manchester United’s midfielder Scott McTominay surprised the media and the fans by giving an impressive message in the club’s press conference ahead of the game facing the Red Devils with Bayern Munchen in Old Trafford on the sixth day of the 2023/2024 Champions League group stage, which is totally crucial for them in order to qualify for the Round of 16 in the competition.
In this sense, the Scottish midfielder has been asked for the responsibility of the players in the current poor baggage of results gotten in the European competition, and he left an impressive message about the rumored problems existing inside the dressing room between the players and the coach this season.
In this respect, McTominay backed Ten Hag by denying that the problems have any issue against the manager, and admitting that the players have the responsibility of qualifying the club for the next round of the Champions League. “It is the players responsibility. We know that as well. We have big characters in the dressing room. It is not like the other managers when it has been toxic at times”, he explained.
From the words by McTominay could be understood that they did have problems with previous managers, while he revealed that it wouldn’t be happening this time with Ten Hag. “The boys are fully behind the manager, that's the be all and end all. We just want to do well for the football club and it is as simple as that”, revealed the Scottish midfielder, who was really clear to shut down the Manchester United toxic dressing room rumors to focus on Bayern Munchen's visit to Old Trafford.
