Manchester United's scouting eye remains privileged. They have had some excellent strikers in recent years, but none have been able to make more history than Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese has been a groundbreaker since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon and is considered a standard bearer for the Red Devils, although his second half of the season was not what the media and fans had hoped for.
That does not detract from the fact that Erik ten Hag's side are keen to bring a new 'CR7' into their ranks. They have tried with other Lusitanians, but the shirt of the best player in Europe at the time is too heavy. Even more renowned strikers have not been able to shine in the same way, such as Edinson Cavani, Romelu Lukaku or Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had a powerful reputation.
Now, Erik ten Hag is desperately looking for a star player in the upcoming summer transfer window. One of the names that has been making the rounds in recent months is that of Neymar Jr. The Brazilian star is still looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain and hopes they can let him go after the departure of one of his most important friends, Lionel Messi, with whom he made a spectacular duo.
They could have a stone's throw to an element that is excelling in Portugal and is being considered one of the most promising young players to be a world figure in a few years. His team is pricing him at a very high level and they hope that the situation in his negotiation will not be difficult, because with the new investment of Sheikh Jassim they know that few clubs can cope with them when they want something.
The Sun newspaper reported that Benfica are reportedly asking more than 80 million euros for the departure of Gonçalo Ramos. The 21-year-old scored 19 goals in 30 games last season in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and is already an indispensable member of the national team under Roberto Martinez, who has already created a golden generation in Belgium.
