Chelsea and Arsenal could be facing a battle out of the pitch to sign a sensational French striker, who could make an immediate impact in any of the teams during the next few years. The Blues were the first team to pursue the player, but the delay in the negotiations for him, have made Arsenal to start making inquiries for him and the Gunners have bounced into the deal and could finally get the player, as reported by the French press.

We talk about the French striker Elye Wahi, from Montpellier. The 20-year-old player featured in the under 21s European Championships, where he helped guide France to a quarter-final finish, which ended in defeat to Ukraine; and he appears as one of the biggest French stars for the next few years, which has made Chelsea and Arsenal to be desperate to sign him.

According to the French press, Chelsea would prepare a forceful economic proposal, above 30 million. However, their plan would be to transfer Wahi to Strasbourg, something that the player is not too convinced about, which could help Arsenal to overcome the Blues in the race to sign the player.

Chelsea and Arsenal could face another suitor in the race for the player

However, Chelsea and Arsenal could not be the only teams willing to sign the player, since Atletico de Madrid could be also interested in counting on Wahi for its new project, as reported by the Spanish press. The Aletico de Madrid coach, Diego Simeone is a great admirer of the player, and he is looking for a striker to replace the possible departures of Morata and Joao Felix, which could end up with Wahi playing for them if Arsenal or Chelsea are not able to avoid it.
