Arsenal’s coach Mikel Arteta thrilled the fans and the media in the last few hours in the club’s press conference ahead of their next game against Sevilla FC in the Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on the third day of the 2023/2024 Champions League’s group stage, as he analyzed the importance of the memory of the former Arsenal player Jose Antonio Reyes in the game.

In this sense, it is worth remembering that the deceased Spanish striker played for Sevilla before joining the Gunners for 20 million in 2004, making part of the invincibles of Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal team able to win the Premier League title remaining unbeaten in the competition during the 2023/2024 season.

Precisely this fact has been remembered by Arsenal’s coach Mikel Arteta, who analyzed the importance of the deceased striker for both teams after being asked by the Spanish journalist whether the Reyes’ memory would make the game against Sevilla even more exciting and emotive.

The coach revealed his memories with the Spanish striker

The Spanish coach did not have any doubt on speaking on the topic, revealing some of his most thrilling memories with the player. "I have great memories of Reyes, he was my roommate. We spent a lot of time together, at his age I don't remember a better player, he had everything. He is part of our history, as one more player of the invincibles. I hope he is up there feeling proud of both clubs during the game", revealed Arteta.
