Life can take many turns. But if a football genius tells you that you have to be more dedicated in your career so you don't lose it, you should listen to him completely. But fame and fortune can blind even the most talented man, leading him to follow in the wrong footsteps and be forgotten by the fans.

Tottenham had an interesting crop of players last decade. Many of them became first-team regulars in the English national team. Even now we can see Harry Kane captaining the national team and being one of the top scorers in world football, proving Jose Mourinho right that he would be an international star.

But there are other cases where they had been warned that their life of excess and debauchery was not going to continue on good terms. Even someone like The Special One warned him in a personal conversation that was recorded and later broadcast as an interesting Hotspur documentary that caused a stir.

Del Alli's name was destined for the big time. He made his debut at 16 with Milton Keynes Dons and from there made a monumental leap to Tottenham, where he had dream seasons but little effort was seen, despite his great talent. He featured at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and started a few games under Gareth Southgate, but his sloppiness won out over his quality with his feet.

What has happened to Dele Alli?

Last heard of Alli, he was involved in a party with several participants and a photograph was taken of him where he appeared to be consuming narcotics. He had recently been dropped by Besiktas of Turkey and, at the age of 27, it looks like his professional career is over for good. As Mourinho predicted a few years ago, his inconsistency was the final nail in the coffin of his football life.
