The Reds went crazy with the referee’s decision on the action

Liverpool’s coach Jürgen Klopp and his players ended their last game against Tottenham really annoyed after having considered that they would have received an unfair treatment in the team’s 2-1 defeat against the Spurs in North London on the seventh day of the 2023/2024 Premier League season.

The Reds, who ended the game with nine players on the pitch after their players Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota were shown red cards by the referee Simon Hooper, struggled until the end to achieve a good result but they confessed they would have avoided to do it due to a crazy refereeing performance according the coach Jürgen Klopp.

The manager, who was visibly angry and upset at the end of the game, left a clear message in the after game press conference, as when Liverpool was left with 10 players in the 25th minute due to the red card received by Curtis Jones, had a real chance to open the score in an ungiven goal by Luis Diaz, that was not conceded alleging the player was in offside.

The PGMOL confirmed a human mistake in decision on the goal

The action was a brilliant combination between Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, who ran at the 35th minute to send a crossed shot that beated the rival goalkeeper. The action, really discussed by Liverpool, has been surprisingly recognized as a refereeing mistake by the Professional Game Match Officials Board, whose chief Howard Webb has now taken immediate action stating that the decision of the referee of ungiving the goal was a human error, which would have enraged the fans on the social media in the last few hours.
