Liverpool is immersed in the potential Henderson departure and the move has gotten some news during the last few hours. After having initially rejected the Al Ettifaq offer, Henderson finally agreed personal terms with the Saudi club when he got a very lucrative offer, remaining only the agreement between Liverpool and Al Ettifaq to seal the deal.
In that sense, both clubs have started the negotiations to complete the transfer with very different perspectives from the business, as Henderson has two more years left in his contract and Al Ettifaq would be interested in paying a symbolic fee while Liverpool’s valuation of the player could be higher.
Actually, the Saudi team could be hoping to secure Henderson on a free transfer rather than paying a transfer fee for the English international. However, after that, reports have come out that Liverpool could have asked for £10 million to sell the player, with subsequent reports suggesting that the club actually could want £20 million, a condition that could change everything in the deal.
The negotiations are expected to be continued during the next few days, with Al Ettifaq very interested in signing the player, but only under certain limits. As reported in the British media in the last few hours, the Saudi team wouldn't be willing to pay £20 million for the player, an amount which could make Al Ettifaq walk away from the deal.
