Liverpool legend Steve Gerrard has a new surprising destination. The English coach had already rejected a first offer from Arabia to join Al Ahli, which could have allowed Gerrard to win £12 million a year. However, he was reported to have taken a Saudi offer from another Saudi team in the last few hours.

In this sense, Steven Gerrard has been announced as new Al Ettifaq coach. The English manager had initially turned down an offer from Al Ettifaq after traveling to Saudi for talks last month, but he finally decided to take the job after having new conversations with the club last week.

Al Ettifaq enthusiastically welcomed the Liverpool legend as their new tactician and heralded him as a legend who is now part of the team. Through an exciting post on his Twitter account, the Saudi team put the message: “Where the legends meet. We are delighted to announce that Steven Gerrard is our new head technician", which welcomes Gerrard to his new job.

New Gerrard’s club plans to meet several Liverpool legends

Al Ettifaq comes from having finished seventh in the Saudi Pro League last season, keeping nine points clear of the relegation zone and is trying to rebuild the team with fresh money and some European football legends. At the moment, the team doesn’t have any superstar on its squad, but they are planning to sign another Liverpool legend, Sadio Mane from Bayern Munchen to start building their dream project apparently based on Liverpool legends.
