Kylian Mbappe saga is one of the main soap operas this summer. The French superstar has been already linked with Real Madrid and Manchester United, as the Spanish team has been said to be one of Mbappe favorite destinations and the Mancunian team potential new owner the Qatari Emir Sheikh Jassim could use his good connections with Qatari PSG owners to sign the French striker.

In this sense, Liverpool also have been reported to be in the race to sign the player, as their manager Jürgen Klopp could be looking for an elite striker to add to his team and he could be ready to make a huge investment in case Mbappe’s contract expires and the French player is a free agent in the market.

Given these last rumors, the PSG boss Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has wanted to send a strong message to Liverpool, strongly linked with the striker during this season. “We do NOT want him to leave for free in 2024”, remarked Al-Khelaïfi. The PSG boss has strongly expressed the club position about the matter saying “ if Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract. We don’t want to lose the best player in the world for free, it’s impossible”.

What is next for Liverpool in the race to sign Mbappe?

The Al-Khelaïfi words will surely drive the next steps of Liverpool in the race of the player. The Anfield team is looking at all possibilities in Mbappe potential signing, and the club is ready to sign him for free, but also to make an irresistible offer in case PSG decides to sell him this summer. In this sense, according to the British media, Liverpool would be willing to offer €300 million for the player, with €250 million plus €50 million in bonuses.
