Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag has become one of the key names in the previous hours to the game facing the Red Devils against Bayern Munchen, as the Dutchman returned to Munchen, where he spent two seasons at the Bavarian club’s reserves team, managing some important players such as Joshua Kimmich or Pierre-Emile Hojberg.

For that reason, the Dutchman was asked by the media about his experience in Germany in the last few hours, in the club’s press conference ahead of the game against Bayern on the first day of the Champions League group stage for the Red Devils, where they will play against Harry Kane outside of England for the first time in history.

In this sense, the English media remembered the nickname Ten Hag used to receive in his period as a Bayern Munchen reserves coach which would have surprised the fans and would have given them reasons to believe in the Dutchman’s project ahead of Manchester United for the next few years.

His period at Bayern was a stepping stone in his career as a manager

In this respect, as revealed by the English site Daily Mail, Ten Hag was called “Mini Pep”, as he used to work with the Catalan coach, who managed the senior team while Ten Hag managed the reserve. According to these sources, Ten Hag used to make copious notes about Guardiola's training methods and putting his own spin on them, which would be a very useful stepping stone on his coaching journey in which he learned much about setting the highest of standards and bounced tactical ideas he would be applying now at Manchester United
