Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov impacted the Premier League fans in the last few hours by picking the teams he consider would be main candidates to win the league title in the upcoming 2023/2024 campaign, considering Manchester City as an important team to consider, but surprisingly snubbing them from the race for the Premier League trophy.
In this sense, the Bulgarian ex striker, who played for Tottenham, Manchester United and Fulham in the Premier League from 2008 to 2014 playing 229 games, scoring 94 goals and giving 47 assists in his whole career in the English league, would be an authorized voice to predict the next champion in the league.
In consequence, Daily Mail reported a Berbatov interview with a gambling British company that Manchester City would fall short of a fourth consecutive title conquest, and he named Manchester United as one of the primary contenders for the title alongside with Chelsea, the other team he picked as a possible Premier League winner.
In addition, the former Manchester United striker took the chance to declare his love for the Red Devils, and wished them a good campaign. “Retired players are always biased towards the clubs they used to play for, so I hope Manchester United get back to where they belong at the the top of the Premier League,” said Berbatov, in a confession that would have already shaken the city of Manchester, whose both teams would be trying to conquer the Premier League again.
