Liverpool’s Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez surprised again the fans and the media with a sensational performance on the pitch with his national team, as he was totally clinical in the game played against Brazil on the fourth day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers where the uruguayan team achieved an historical 2-0 against the Brazilian team.
Nunez’s relevance in the game was capital, as the striker was able to open the scoring for their team in the first half to seal the dominance over the Brazilian team in the first minutes of the game, with a header that went viral on the social media and highly commented by the Liverpool fans, who are happy to see their striker succeed with his national team.
Liverpool’s number 9 scored his goal at the 42nd minute of the game with a diving header after being assisted with a crossed pass from the left wing by Maximiliano Araujo. The Liverpool’s striker signed his second goal in four games played of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with his country.
The goal could serve the Uruguayan striker to boost in his confidence to return to Liverpool, where he got ready to face Everton in Anfield in the Merseyside derby this week with the willingness of scoring a new goal, after he has only scored four goals in ten games completed this season with the Reds.
