Manchester United continues looking for signing a main goalkeeper for Erik Ten Hag, who is planning the next season and has already expressed the need of building his new squad from the goal. The Dutchman wants a player able to help the team to break low blocks of pressure through ball possession, which is driving Manchester United to look for goalkeepers with very specific characteristics.
As reported by the British media, this would be one of the reasons why Erik Ten Hag is willing to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan, as the Cameroonian goalkeeper has already been coached by the Dutchman, and he seems to fit perfectly with the profile asked by United’s manager. In this sense, Ten Hag is really pushing Manchester United to make an important effort to sign the player as an important player of his project, despites the difficulties the Mancunian institution is finding in the transfer.
In this sense, negotiations between Manchester United and Inter Milan are ongoing, with the Italian team asking for at least €50 and Manchester United willing to offer €40, while in the last few hours, the player has been linked with All Nassr to play in the Saudi Pro League with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United needs a goalkeeper soon, as Dean Henderson is the main option in the squad after David De Gea’s contract expired last week, and Erik Ten Hag has even started to considered other options as Justin Bijlow from Feyenoord and Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt in case the club doesn’t get Onana.
However, in the last few hours Ten Hag and Manchester United have received good news. According to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, there has been no bid or contact from Saudi Arabia to Inter or André Onana. Following La Gazzetta sources, there is a willingness between all parties to agree a deal with Manchester United soon, with Onana wishing to join the Ten Hag project at the club.
